Son of Beaker: 31-32, 277 & 470
This week, Anthony and Sean are hitting the books as they tackle some literary adaptations! Channeling every cent of student debt their English majors saddled them with, they start with David Lean’s Great Expectations and Oliver Twist for some good old fashioned British whimsy, lightly seasoned with anti-semitism (from the movie, not the hosts). Next up is the (very) loosely Henry IV/V based My Own Private Idaho, where we learn that APPARENTLY Sean isn't on the same page as everyone else when it comes to Keanu Reeves. Finally, we close the book on the week with a heated discussion of John Huston’s adaptation of Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood.
Anthony also graces us with his poetic stylings, as well as an explanation on the logistics of homeschooling. Don't say we never taught ya nothin!
